  • A Great Way to Lose Weight: Walking

    If you're interested to lose weight, you'll also want to start working out on a regular basis. Maybe you're a newbie to exercising or you haven't exercised in a long time? If you don't believe you know how to exercise very well, you can get started with walking. You should integrate walking into your exercise plan if you haven't already done so.

    There are many ways to add walking into your day-to-day routine. You might want to take your dog for a 10-minute walk around the neighborhood. Just imagine, 10 minutes per day is the same as walking 70 minutes every week. You can multiply it by two if you and your dog go walking twice each day. If you don't life too far from your office, try walking all or a little bit of the way. However, if your workplace is two hours away, you may not want to walk that far--unless you're preparing for a marathon! Walking half an hour to your workplace is not inconceivable and, by the time you walk to and from work, you will have walked an hour a day. Even if you use the bus to get to work, you can still try adding walking into your day by walking to the next bus stop before you get onto the bus. Walking isn't difficult to add to your daily life.

    Walking is terrific for your overall health. Because walking is a form of cardio activity, you'll burn calories while also getting rid of those excess pounds and improving your cardiovascular health. Unlike running, which can stress your joints, you can walk at any pace that works for you. To illustrate, I've always marveled how my brother could stay so thin when he eats up so much junk food. While he states he has no idea, I think the fact that he walks each day may help. After he'd said that, it made perfect sense. Walking is not hard to do there's no reason you you shouldn't try it.


    It's not easy to find excuses for not going on a walk for short distances regularly. Even busy people can find 10 minutes each day to walk around the neighborhood or go to the local gym for a stint on the treadmill.

    If you can develop the habit of walking each day, it will become second nature to you and you'll be able to lose weight. As walking is not a tiring physical activity, it's easier to keep motivated and stick to your exercise routine. Once you have been walking on a regular basis, you'll probably want to step up the intensity level to receive even more benefit. There's no reason not to do it if you feel fine with that. Pick up the pace when you're walking and, if you want, going on a jog for short distances. The next step will be to move on to even more arduous activities.

My brother is very trim (but he consumes a great deal of junk food) and I ask him how he he can stay slim. He tells he has no clue but reminded me that he does a lot of walking every day. It made perfect sense when he told me that. The simplicity of walking makes it inconceivable to come up with reasons to not try it.

    Set up a daily walking routine, combine it with a balanced diet diet, and you should realize weight loss without any big effort. When you walk daily, you'll observe that you feel healthier and are motivated to keep walking daily. As you walk more regularly and notice changes, you'll want to do more or step up the intensity level of your walks. If you sense you could do more, do it. Walk faster or if you're feeling very confident, you could start jogging. The next you need to do is to progress to even more strenuous activities.

  • A Healthy Way of Losing Weight: Walking

After you have been walking regularly, you'll probably want to step up the intensity to receive even more benefit. If you believe you're ready to move on to something tougher, don't be scared to make an attempt. Walk a little faster than you ordinarily do and maybe jog for a few steps along the way if you feel like it. After this, you may wish to move on to more challenging activities.
